Compatibility

Will MailSync work with Windows 10 machine?

MailSync version 1.x is fully compatible with Windows 10. All versions of our software work with Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

What versions of Outlook does this software work with?

MailSync can be used with Outlook 2016 (32-bit and 64-bit), 2013 (32-bit and 64-bit), 2010 (32-bit and 64-bit) and 2007.

Is MailSync compatible with Exchange or Office 365?

MailSync is fully compatible with Office 365 and Exchange.

Is MailSync compatible with IMAP?

MailSync is compatible with IMAP if you are using Outlook 2013 or later.

Installation and Registration

How can I get an executable copy of MailSync to install on my computer?

How can I register MailSync on my computer?
I get an error message saying “Registration Unsuccessful” while activating MailSync?

This error normally occurs if you are either:
     1. Entering your unlock code or name incorrectly or
     2. Have installed the wrong software.

I get an error message “The unlock code has already been activated on another computer.” while activating MailSync?

Each license of MailSync can be used on one computer only.
If you are installing the software on the same computer and this message appears, please contact our support team with details. If you wish to transfer your license from one computer to another (e.g. you have purchased a new computer), click here for instructions on transferring licenses between computers.

I get an installation error message saying “There is a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run”.

This error normally occurs when you do not have adequate permission on your Temp folder in windows.

I have misplaced my unlock code. How can I retrieve my registration information?

How do I transfer my license from one computer to another?

To transfer a license from one computer to another, you need to deactivate it on the first computer before it can be activated on the second.

To deactivate please follow the steps below:

   - In your Outlook, click on 'More Actions' drop-down in the MailSync toolbar/ribbon 
   - Click 'About MailSync for Outlook'
   - On the About screen, click on 'Activate/Deactivate' button
   - Click on the 'Deactivate software on this computer' link and follow the instructions to de-activate MailSync.

You will now be able to install the software on another computer and activate it again.

I need to reformat my computer. Will my unlock code still work after reformatting.

Please deactivate your software first before formatting your computer. This will enable you to install and activate again after formatting.
To deactivate please follow the steps below:

   - In your Outlook, click on 'More Actions' drop-down in the MailSync toolbar/ribbon 
   - Click 'About MailSync for Outlook'
   - On the About screen, click on 'Activate/Deactivate' button
   - Click on the 'Deactivate software on this computer' link and follow the instructions to de-activate MailSync.

You will now be able to activate it again using the same registration information. 

General Questions

Does MailSync for Outlook work with Outlook Express?

No. MailSync for NetDocuments & Outlook works with Microsoft Outlook 2007 and later.

I have installed MailSync but cannot see the MailSync ribbon/toolbar in Outlook.

Restart Microsoft Outlook. The ribbon/toolbar should be visible. If you still cannot see the ribbon/toolbar then restart your computer and then open Outlook. If the toolbar is still not visible then see the answer to the next question.

MailSync was working on my computer but for some reason I can no longer see the ribbon/toolbar.

Your Outlook may have disabled MailSync. You can re-enable MailSync by doing the following:

If you are using Outlook 2007:
   - From your Outlook Inbox
   - Select Help menu > Click Disable Items
   - On the screen that appears, select MailSync
   - Click Enable

If you are using Outlook 2010 or above:
   - From your Outlook Inbox
   - Click File tab > Options
   - Click on Add-Ins on the left column
   - Select Disabled Items for the Manage drop-down
   - Click Go
   - Select MailSync
   - Click Enable
