Load Contacts from an External Source

If you have selected to import contact data from an External file such as an Excel Spreadsheet, CSV file or Access Database. The steps on the wizard will be slightly different then when loading contacts from inside Outlook.

We will take you through the wizard using an Excel Spreadsheet as our contact source (Steps for CSV file and Access Database will be similar to this)

1. Choose where your contacts information is?

  1. On the second step of the wizard, select Excel file as shown below

  2. EmailMerge Load Contact Source

  3. Click on the [...] button and browse for the file that has your contact information.
    Click Next to load the file.
    Note: Your external file must have at least one field with email address.

2. Choose Contacts/list folders you want to use

  1. All Sheets from the excel file that are not empty will be loaded. Select the Sheet(s) from which you want to load the contacts and Click Next

3. Set main Email fields EmailMerge Set main EmailFields

  1. On this step of the wizard, you will be required to select the appropriate fields from the drop-down which has the "Recipients Email Address", "Name" and "Company". (Name and Company are optional fields)

  2. If you would like to send different attachments to each recipient or CC/BCC the email to someone click on the link "Select fields for Attachments/CC/BCC". EmailMerge will display the following screen:

  4. Under the Attachment Tab, Tick the appropriate field which has the path and filename of the attachments for each recipient.

  5. Click CC/BCC Tab, from the drop-down for CC and BCC, select the appropriate field which has the email address of the recipient you want the email to be CC'ed or BCC'ed to.

  6. Click OK

  7. Click Next
